Workplace Bullying Prevention | Building a Respectful Workplace
Building a More Competitive Workplace Through Respect
According to Google's renowned Project Aristotle study, which analyzed more than 180 teams, psychological safety is the most important factor in building high-performing teams—even more influential than individual capability or educational background.
With Taiwan's new workplace bullying prevention regulations taking effect on July 1, this marks not only an important milestone in protecting employees' rights, but also a valuable opportunity for organizations to strengthen management practices and foster a healthier workplace. On the first day of the new regulations, Yankey Engineering's Human Resources Department invited Attorney Chen Yi-Hsin of Tong Wei Law Firm to deliver a training session covering the key legal amendments, employers' responsibilities, complaint and investigation procedures, and common workplace dispute cases. The session helped employees better understand their rights and responsibilities, as well as the appropriate boundaries of workplace interactions.
The training also explored real-life scenarios, including whether remarks made "as a joke" without naming a specific individual could still constitute inappropriate conduct, whether labels such as "young and promising" or "too sensitive" may be considered discriminatory, how to distinguish legitimate management from workplace bullying, and how organizations should initiate investigations and protection mechanisms after receiving a complaint.
A positive workplace culture is not only an employee benefit but also a key source of organizational competitiveness. Preventing workplace bullying is therefore about more than legal compliance—it is about creating an environment where employees feel safe to speak up, managers can lead with confidence, and teams treat one another with mutual respect.
Yankey Engineering will continue to strengthen its workplace culture through ongoing training, policy enhancement, and cultural initiatives, working together with all employees to build a respectful, inclusive workplace and support sustainable talent development and long-term corporate growth.
